Getting Started With Canvas at Cabrillo

Log into Canvas

log into with the same username and password as for . your seven-digit college id number is the username. when you log into or , be sure to include all of the leading zeros on your college id number. for example, if your college id number is 0001234, then type all seven digits into the field for username on the login page. typing 1234 will not work.

Term Settings

Student access to Canvas is limited by term settings. These are not the same as the academic term! Refer to the list below to find the current settings. Dates are subject to change. For information about early starting classes, contact the instructor of your course. Search the campus directory by first or last name, to find out how to contact the instructor.

if you would like students to view the course content before the default start date, then you can set a custom start and end date for the course. be sure to check the box next to "students can only participate" etc.

About Courses

  • Course Creation
    • Courses are created in Canvas one week after the official schedule is released. This will be done automatically by the system. There is no need to request a course shell.
    • If you would like a development shell, to start working on your course ahead of time, then please send a request to the TLC.
  • Accessibility Guidelines - Online course content must meet the same accessibility standards as for other content on the web.
